Medieval Alhama de Granada from the East c XV Century This impression shows just how protected the citadel of Alhama once was, a steep ravine on its Northern Walls and a deep narrow gorge encompassing its Easterly and Southern walls.   The town looks very different today, save for the gorge, the ravine has been stepped and general urbanization has taken over the surrounding countryside.
